SIGNS TO WATCH FOR

- Trouble rhyming or hearing individual sounds in spoken words
- Slow, effortful, or inaccurate reading aloud
- Frequent letter reversals and spelling that varies word to word
- Strong listening comprehension paired with weak decoding
- Avoiding reading tasks, or fatigue and frustration around homework
- A family history of reading or spelling difficulty
